Blogoversary! Fun! Giveaway!

So apparently this (very busy) month brings with it my first ever blogoversary. That's pretty darn exciting!

I started this blog because I didn't really have people in my real life who love books the way I do. I wanted to talk about books and hear about new books and maybe meet some fellow book nerds. I have done all of these things, so I'd call this first year of blogging a success!

I've accomplished more here than I really thought I would (or could), and I'm so incredibly happy to have met the people I have. Chatting with and getting to know my kick-butt fellow bloggers, lovely and amazing authors, and the coolest publishing peeps around has been incredible. I feel like I have finally found my people, and I kind of have this little blog to thank for that. I don't dare call anyone out because I know for a fact I would forget some people due to exam brain and then feel really terrible about it, but I do want to say that I'm incredibly glad to have met you all. Thank you for brightening up my bookish world!

Love you guys!

Okay, enough being sappy. Time for the good stuff! Since I've had such an amazing time getting to share my blog with all of you, I wanted to share some of the books I've loved with you as well. So I'm going to run some blogoversary giveaways! How about one for commenters? One for followers? What do you think?

The people have spoken! Both it is!

Prizes:
One winner for each giveaway will win their choice of any book I've reviewed this year (as of the end of October) (you can check my Review Archive), provided it's available from The Book Depository (with free shipping to you) for $10 CAD or less.

Giveaway #1.
One of the best parts of blogging is interacting with people about the books we've read or want to read. One of the ways to do this is through comments. So I want to say a huge thank you to people who comment on the blog!
Here's how this is going to work:
Any (meaningful) comments in the entire month of October that are on NON-MEME posts (so reviews, discussions, guest posts, all that fun stuff... basically just not Waiting on Wednesday. Or this post, because I'm really just giving away things) posted during this month will count as entries into this giveaway. At the end of the month, I'll randomly choose one of the comments and that wonderful commenter will win! If you want to leave an easy way to contact you in your comments this month, feel free (unless I already know how, in which case that's cake). I'll appreciate you making it easier for me :) Otherwise, I'll do my best to track you down, but If I can't find any way to contact the winner, I'll have to pick someone else, unfortunately.

Giveaways #2 & 3.
For these two, I'm going to go through my email and Bloglovin followers randomly and choose one follower from each method to win. For (confirmed) email followers, I'm just going to go through and send the "winner" email to that address, but since Bloglovin doesn't provide a way of contacting followers, I'm going to ask that if you follow me on Bloglovin, please fill out the Rafflecopter below so that I have a way to contact you if you win!

Honestly, thanks so much, everyone, for helping to make this blog what it is today, (almost) a year after it started, and for making my experience in that year such a wonderful one. I love you, bookish community!

  2. Happy blogoversary!! The blogging community really is amazing, isn't it? I'm just like you - I don't have many reader friends IRL, so finding this community has been like finding my second home. I always hid my nerdishness before but now I get to geek out over bookish things, and it's so amazing. I'm glad you started blogging and found a place you fit in, too. Annnnnd, then there's super cool stuff like blogger meetups where we actually get to squee over books IN PERSON! :-D

    1. Thank you Marie! It truly is amazing. It has been so welcoming and so accepting of flails and geekiness and all the things that my real life friends think I'm ridiculous for. The community deserves a big hug for that! And YES! So excited for the meet-up and actually getting to meet everyone! :)

  3. Happy blogoversary, Jess! I'm so glad you decided to start blogging, because I don't think the blogosphere would be nearly as fun without you. :)

Also, the Adam Levine GIF made me giggle, so points for that.
