Giveaway (US/Can): A Monster Calls by Patrick Ness

I'm very excited today to partner up with Candlewick to offer up a giveaway for a book by one of my favourite authors, Patrick Ness.

Candlewick is releasing a new edition of his book A Monster Calls this month and thanks to them, I have two copies to give away to residents of the US or Canada! I really enjoyed this book and am happy to have the chance to share it with two of you!

Here's a bit about the book:

The monster in Conor’s backyard is not the one he’s been expecting -- the one from the nightmare he’s had every night since his mother started her treatments. This monster is ancient. And wild. And it wants something from Conor. Something terrible and dangerous. It wants the truth. From the final idea of award-winning author Siobhan Dowd -- whose premature death from cancer prevented her from writing it herself -- Patrick Ness has spun a haunting and darkly funny novel of mischief, loss, and monsters both real and imagined.

And a bit about Patrick Ness:

Patrick Ness is the author of the critically acclaimed and best-selling Chaos Walking trilogy (The Knife of Never Letting Go, The Ask and the Answer and Monsters of Men). He has won numerous awards, including the Guardian Children’s Fiction Prize, the Booktrust Teenage Prize, and the Costa Children’s Book Award. His next book More Than This goes on sale September 2013.

And now what you've all really been waiting for, the giveaway!

Some Rules (aka the not so fun but important part):
~ This giveaway is open to residents of the US and Canada only.
~ No P.O. boxes.
~ Must be 13 or older to enter.
~ Winner will be chosen randomly and contacted via email. The winner has 48 hours to respond to my email, otherwise they forfeit their prize and I will choose another winner, who must abide by the same rules.
~ Neither Candlewick nor I are responsible for lost or damaged packages.
No cheating! In this case, I have the right to disqualify entries as I see fit.
~ By entering the giveaway, you are agreeing to these rules.

Good luck!

  1. Nice story on background of the novel. The book itself sounds interesting.

    1. It really was interesting. And I loved hearing about the back story for it; I feel it only adds to the story itself.
