ARC August
So I was staring at my bookshelf before I went away thinking about which books to read on vacation when I realized just how many books are sitting there unread. A lot of those are ARCs thanks to BEA and fabulous publishers, and I need to get my butt in gear reading them! So when I saw that Octavia over at Read. Sleep. Repeat. was organizing a month-long ARC-fest type thing, I knew it was a good idea for me. And after the miserable failure that was the ReReadathon for me (so many things got in the way... I'm sorry, Shelver!), I'm determined to do well at this one!
Check out more info about ARC August here.
So what's on my agenda for ARC August? Basically as many of my BEA books as I can manage, which will come from these piles:
And then books from awesome pubs and such, including:
Canary by Rachele Alpine
STARLING!!!! by Fiona Paul!!!!
OCD Love Story by Corey Ann Haydu
The Beginning of Everything by Robyn Schneider
Just Like Fate by Cat Patrick and Suzanne Young
Perfect Ruin by Lauren Destefano
When I Was the Greatest by Jason Reynolds
Freakboy by Kristin Elizabeth Clark
Tumble & Fall by Alexandra Coutts
Smoke by Ellen Hopkins
Chaos of Stars by Kiersten White
Coaltown Jesus by Ron Koertge
More Than This by Patrick Ness
Not a Drop to Drink by Mindy McGinnis
The Darkest Path by Jeff Hirsch
and possibly more that I'm forgetting about because I totally do that, especially when my brain is swamped.
So wish me luck because this will be quite the task!

Deletehey my name is Shirin and i'm new to the blogosphere and was wonders HOW TO GET ARC's. Since you receive them I was hoping that you could help me out (:
ReplyDeleteGetting ARCs is about your relationship with the publisher and that's something you have to develop for yourself; nobody is going to or can do that for you.
DeleteHow do you get in touch with publishers?
DeleteGive their websites a try, there is usually contact info there.
DeleteYay -- you can do it. I'm on vacation so tackling lots of the e-ARCs. When I get back home, I'm with you!!
ReplyDeleteWoohoo, good luck with the e-ARCs and have fun on vacation! We can do this :)
DeleteWow, SO MANY BOOKS. I actually had no idea that the third book in the Secrets of the Eternal Rose trilogy even had a name and cover yet...I'm not usually so out of the loop! lol I've heard that The Beginning of Everything is amazing. Good luck getting through your stack! ;-)

Right? I don't know how this happened! But yeah, Starling was a fairly recent announcement, so I don't think you're doing to bad ;) I'm not always a big contemp person but I've heard tons of good things about The Beginning of Everything as well, so fingers crossed!
DeleteThat's awesome, I'm looking forward to meeting you as well! :)
Holy cow, how are you going to read so many books? Have fun!
ReplyDeleteChristianna, I have absolutely no clue. But I'll just plow through what I can and probably extend ARC August into September ;) Thanks!
